About this Costume
Construction Details:
This whole outfit was an exercise in "winging it."

Dress was based off Simplicity 3629. The sleeves/skirt part looked mad oversized on me, so I kept only the vest/dress part and switched to a simple circle skirt with hand sewn ribbon trim because sure why not it'll look cool (I need to stop doing that) I should also mention that using a slightly stretchy suiting but forgetting to prewash it means fun things happen when you fuse the interfacing in! Hooray for cutting it a size larger but winding up about 1.5 sizes smaller! White trim? Sure that looks cool let's roll with it.

The cape is traced off my Alice caplet, which was traced off my original Red Mage caplet from 2004. There is a reason you do not see pictures of that costume anywhere. I actually mitered the bias tape correctly on the cape hooray! The collar was modified from the dress pattern accessories and the gem was just hotglued to a pin backing.

The hat I literally just started sewing randomly the night before Otakon. Didn't follow a pattern, just trial and error way past my bedtime. There's floral wire and random cut up foamies in the brim to hold the shape since that's all I had on hand at the time whoops! Also I'm wearing my regular glasses because my condition makes contacts disorienting after a while. haters gonna hate.

Once more, not a hard costume just time consuming especially when you are quasi-disabled at the time.
