Construction Details:

the shirt was made from a pattern that I altered to fit the sailor collar and tailored to my size. before sewing all the pieces together I marked out each individual stitch and hand-stitched them with embroidery floss. the collar was patterned by me using this tutorial from God Save The Queen Fashions http://godsavethequeenfashions.com/Making_a_Sailor_Collar.html I made the bias tape and kerchief by hand.

the skirt was made from a cotton print from Joann's. the houndstooth pattern was originally brown and white, so I used a diluted black dye to make the color more accurate. I then hand-pleated it and installed a zipper.

the socks and shoes were purchased.

Wig Review

very natural looking for being the unnatural color it is. I love the different shades of blue in it. very low-maintenance too - I can toss it around and still brush it out easily.
