About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I bought the Terezi shirt from Potatoco and already had some good black pants and red Toms. I got the wig from Arda. I used the Weeping Angel tutorial to make troll arms out of opaque grey tights (from We Love Colors), except I didn't follow it 100%. It took me 3 hours to do one hand because I'm inexperienced with sewing, but my friend did the other hand in 5 minutes. ^^;
I used Hanyaan's troll makeup tutorial and it worked amazingly. The color ended up perfectly matching the We Love Colors tights color.
I used a pattern from deviantART for Lemonsnout, but tweaked it a little to change the shape a bit. Most of the time spent on this was sewing Lemonsnout.
I got the glasses online from some Halloween store and they're pretty much perfect (without having to make your own).
The horns are made of Fimo that we skewered holes into the bases of, then threaded some white twine through. Instead of being sensible and buying black string, I Sharpied the white string and then threaded it through the horns so that I could tie them around my head over the wig. - Personal Thoughts:
- This was my first cosplay that involved little clothing detail, but lots of makeup detail. It was really fun being a troll. I'd probably do it again depending on my other costuming priorities.

- Styling Notes
- I tried to use a curling iron to flip the bottom of the wig, but it actually straightened it. I found a bit of success by curling the ends and securing them with clips all around the bottom and then spraying heavily with a max hold spray (leaving it overnight). That worked, but it's since straightened a bit, so I'd have to do it again. I also trimmed the bangs.
- Wig Review
- I love this wig and would definitely buy from Arda again. All of the wigs I've used before this one were way too thin and didn't have enough hair, so styling was always a pain. This wig was also big and comfy enough that I wore it with no wig cap and there was minimal itch.
