About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Made out of sintra for the metal parts which were molded by dunking in boiling hot water and scalding the every living shit out of my self. Leather was real authentic leather bought from justleather.com. Details on the side guards and head band were sculpted out of clay and added to a base product, sanded, and painted. Feathers were turkey feathers, then I custom mixed a terracotta dye into a spray bottle and hand dyed the gradient and then dry brushed the darker patches at the tip.
KIWIFROG COSPLAY MADE MY HAMMER
LIKE I SAID: BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS. - Personal Thoughts:
- This was made for Animegacon with my other Monster Hunters to compete in the masquerade. Although we didn't win the $10,000 prize money, this costume was well worth the blood, sweat, tears, and sleep deprivation to have it done in time. My group was absolutely amazing, and it felt like a great honor to compete with truly gifted cosplayers. I felt like I was the weakest link costume wise since everyone else looked so amazing.. but I still had a great time, and I learned really amazing techniques and extended my cosplay knowledge leaps and bounds with this costume!
