Construction Details:

Skirt is a 3/4 circle skirt, radius 40", made of papyrus Wrinklease from JoAnn. Rolled hem, invisible zipper, 18 FEET OF LACE, gathered on the back 1/4-circle panel. Freehanded. It took a full day just to hem. It is the Hellskirt.Blouse and bustle pad are made of white Egyptian cotton (from what I remember; I've had it a while). Bustle pad made from a pattern by SteamIngenious on Etsy (the top tier of the tiered bustle) and the blouse is Vogue V8772 view B.Bustier is made from khaki Weavers and lined with Posh Lining in taupe, both from JoAnn. Pattern is Simplicity 2172. It's fully boned save for the bust seams. Coat is green heather stripe Classic Suiting from JoAnn. Rather heavily altered version of the coat from Simplicity 2172, with the leftover lace from the skirt trimming the sleeves. Closures are decorative brass hook-and-eyes from JoAnn.Shoes were bought from Ross a couple of years ago and the socks were bought from Forever 21 in 2008. The tulip handkerchief was my maternal great-grandmother's.Costume done in two weeks, although some alterations are still happening. It's probably the best thing I've made so far regardless. What do I win?

Personal Thoughts:

why can't I ever take myself seriously wahrnAnyway, I've wanted to do this outfit since after the Hetalia photoshoot at KumoriCon 2011. Why I didn't start it then is beyond me - I guess I wanted to do the whole thing in in a mad rush two weeks before the con like I usually do.
