About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Too much to write down at this point.
But basic supplies from LA fashion district, SparkFun dot com, RadioShack, Fry's, Harbor and Freight Tools.
The Arduino tutorial for programming the controller (LilyPad) http://web.media.mit.edu/~leah/LilyPad/

The difficulty of this costume is way beyond the scale that ACP has provided...(it's over 9000~!!!)
Both NorCal and SoCal Angel Hearts teams bought drill-presses to drill holes into 1000+ cabochons!!
- Personal Thoughts:
- A results of 6+ months of blood, sweat and tears. I couldn't have done this without Angel Hearts~!!! BabySnowLeopard (Kie) was the key to programming the chasing lights pattern. This project requires you to be a seamstress, electrical engineer and a programmer at the same time. I reviewed the section of Physics that I took in college that dealt with electronics; understanding Ohm's Law really helped. And differentiating Series from Parallel was essential. Every part required some development and experimental work. I worked with my dad on soldering connections and building a driver that would help light up all the LEDs without over-heating the LilyPad controller. We all helped each other out, staying up till the wee hours of the morning on gChat and to the last minute at the hotel room stitching up circuits, soldering battery packs to controllers and switches, finishing telephone cords with pretty silver, and getting everything together physically and mentally.
