About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The actual costume itself is quite easy. The boots I bought at a thrift store and cut, painted, and added craft foam zippers to. For the thigh highs I cut some pink girls stockings and wear them inside-out to stop them from rolling. As for the shorts they are just a simple pair with the V on the front of the top hem and a smaller one in the back. The blet was a plain white one that I bought and each stud was placed on by hand, as for the buckle it was just a piece of thick foam that was painted. The bikini top started off with normal bra cups that I covered in black spandex. As for the flames I figureds out how I wanted them to lay and they turn into the straps seamlessly. The neck scarf is some pink and white fleece with a red bias tape and a zipper I modified shorter. The gloves are made from scratch out of spandex and the wrist part is fabric foam while the yellow dots are actually eyes used for puppets. The skull hair clup was bought while the yellow hair sticks were square dowels that I sanded and rounded half-way so they could slide into the hair easier and painted yellow.
- Personal Thoughts:
- There's a lot of people who have the opinion that Yoko is just a fanservice character and that girls only cosplay her for attention. I absolutely hate that. I love Yoko and find her to be an incredibly strong character so I tried very hard to get it as accurate as possible (Yet I tried to make it a bit more modest for my own personal taste. No underboob and panty like shorts.)

- Styling Notes
- Not wanting to do the stubbing method to high ponytails I decided to keep my wig as intact as possible in case I wanted to switch to a down hair style. I cut and styled the bangs as well as the front pieces of hair. From there I salvaged some wefts from the back of the wig in various places and set them aside. At the same time I took whatever fibers I had cut from the bang styling and covered a hollowed out foam cone with them and attached the salvaged wefts to it as well. I slowly brought up the fibers in the back on the wig to one single point where the ponytail would start, taking those fibers and having them run through the hollowed out cone which I then sewed to the wig. This way I'd be able to keep the long fibers intact but still getting them up to the ridiculous ponytail height. I then pulled back the remaining fibers To make the attachment seamless.
- Wig Review
- I'm still not completely satisfied with my bangs so I'll keep tweaking them.
