About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume is DECEPTIVELY SIMPLE IN APPEARANCE, but actually took me FOREVER to get right. The applique knit top proved to be rather easy, but the leotard? Sheesh. Because the milliskin is rather thin and unforgiving, I cut 2 layers, but only sewed the stripe into the TOP layer, so the seams would be hidden by the lining/2nd layer. That was a bit of a nightmare because I chose to sew it in AFTER I had flatted the 2 pieces together. After that, I spent HOURS trying to meticulously figure out the best placement for the straps on the legs of the leotard. I put a stupid amount of time into that. I learned a lot while making this costume. Mostly I learned that I am very. very. slow.
Personal Thoughts:
IRON SANDALS, Y'ALL. IRON SANDALS.
Wig Details
Wig Brand
Arda Wigs
Wig Name
Luthien
Original Color:
Dark Blue
Styling Time
3 hours
Wig Quality Rating
4 / 5.00
Styling Notes
Styled the wig into a high ponytail by taking small sections at a time and tying them together. It's tedious, but the result is worth it, and I love the look way better than buying a short wig and popping a ponytail extension on top. Tutorial forthcoming!
Wig Review
I loved everything about this wig (the color, the length, the curl, the thickness!!) except the texture. It's not as soft as some of Arda's other wigs, but on the bright side, it DOES detangle relatively easy! :)
