About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The armor pieces were made of EVA foam, foamies, and backer rod. Most pieces velcro together, the bracers use velcro and magnets.
PCV tubing and PET-G plastic were used to create light shields, and some wax paper was used as a diffuser for the EL tape that runs through the costume.
The spandex suit was made out of a gray spandex and a stretch grey athletic mesh for texture. The suit was patterned out using a mock up, and then sewn and serged together. Velcro was attached in various places to hold the armor up, and some holes were cut in the arms legs and hips to run wire through the costume for the lighting.
The mask was sculpted out of Monster Clay and then cast in resin. The gun was a nerf longstrike that was altered using apoxie sculpt, foam, PVC pipes and wire. I burned out a dremel building it =( - Personal Thoughts:
- Although I suck something awful at the game, I really enjoy Starcraft and the community. Kerrigan is one of my all time favorite kick-ass characters and with Heart of the Swarm coming out soon I just had to pay homage to her.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The bangs and pony were trimmed with a razor for a "natural look". A pony tail cover made out of foam was added.
- Wig Review
- This new version of the Jeannie has less crimped hair at the top which makes it more natural and less itchy, but the wig has a larger then average base and requires altering and pinning to prevent gaping.
The base ponytail on the wig can sometimes be seen through the clip on pony tail, but the wig looks great and is highly convenient.
