About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I used Butterick pattern 4954 for the jacket and skirt, and I used a slightly stretchy suiting burgundy fabric that I had in my stash. I significantly shortened the jacket and fitted it appropriately, then added white bias tape to the bottom. I then added long white cuffs to the sleeves and gold buttons. I drafted the pattern for the collar, which is a separate piece and opens in the front. I used a long "S" shaped stitch on my machine to get the pointed edge.
The skirt was lengthened into a past-the-knee length pencil skirt. For the waist piece, I drafted that on my dressform to get the right fit on the waist and shape for the points. I used the same white fabric as the cuffs and collar, and it's lined with white suiting fabric with interfacing to give it structure. It opens up on the side with an invisible zipper. - Personal Thoughts:
- I adore KKM, and when I first watched it in 2008 I added Anissina to my costume list with no idea how to make the costume. Fast forward four years, and while cleaning my old to-cosplay list I came across her costume and realized I now was able to make it, which I did in three nights.

- Styling Notes
- Ugh this wig. I was planning on buying a ponytail wig from Arda in a similar color, but they didn't have it in stock before I was supposed to wear it to ConnectiCon, so I bought a long wig an wefts from Epic and tried the old method of stubbing. What a freaking disaster, I'm not even going to bother describing what I didn't because it didn't work at all.
- Wig Review
- The wig is beautiful quality and color, and any issues I had with it were due to my errors.
