About this Costume

The outer kimono is like, costume satin, I think, and has a disgusting amount of interfacing in the collar and on the back to try and hold it up. The obi was made in two parts; the wider belt part, and the bow, which was filled with interfacing and hand stitched on to the belt. The belt is closed with hook and eye closures.
The swimsuit is made out of swimsuit material with foam bra cups inside. It was my first time using a zig-zag stitch when sewing stretch, and it is a lifesaver! There's clear plastic straps to hold up the swimsuit that were handstitched in.
The jewels on the kimono were made with epoxy resin and they sit on a craft foam base that jaypoy very kindly made while I was rushing around on like, Wednesday trying to finish my other costumes. xD
The, uh, flagellum on the wig (for lack of a better term) is lining fabric sewn into a tube and stuffed with pillow stuffing. It's hand stitched into the wig cap. On the other end is a model magic disc that jaypoy again made for me. It's attached to the flagellum with wires and hot glue.
The thigh highs are the same fabric as the swimsuit, and beneath them I'm wearing tabi (Japanese toe socks, basically) and geta, which I bought at AUSA 2010 or something ridiculous.
The hair bells are handsewn to silk cord and tied in a bow around the flagellum.
The gold accents are flat wire with translucent blue stones hot glued to them, and then the whole thing was spirit gummed to my skin and proceeded to fall off all over the place. - Personal Thoughts:
- Hahaha wow you are not supposed to wear a kimono half off your shoulders CLAMP THANKS FOR NOTHING
