Construction Details:

This was probably the most complex costume I've made to date.
Starting from top to bottom:

HAT
This was a lot easier than I expected. I actually used the bottom of an oatmeal container and covered it with the leftover corset fabric. The feathery fluff was two premade clips from JoAnn's.

SOUL GEM
Some bendy wire glued together made up the petal parts, and then two charms I found glued together became the soul gem. The soul gem itself isn't exactly accurate, but I thought it looked Mami-ish and pretty.

SHIRT
Hand-me-down from the Gap. I cut off the collar and the buttons, and added a zipper down the fron and the little tassel things.

ARM WARMERS
Made up a pattern that ended up working miraculously. Just some shirting we already had.

CORSET
Fully boned, made from a pattern I edited slightly (I'll put it up when I find it).

SKIRT
Just a circle skirt with bias tape to finish the edges. I added an extra layer of tulle underneath for extra POOF.

SOCKS
Somehow my mother already had these in possession.

BOOTS
Bought off ebay, then covered with fabric and painted. Biggest pain in the butt XD.

Personal Thoughts:

GAH This might be my favorite cosplay ever. I love Mami with all of my heart, and being a part of a group from Madoka was absolutely wonderful.

Styling Notes

The curls were originally a lot tighter, and I loosened them slightly by moving the elastics down. I sprayed them a little with hairspray, and they stuck.
