About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Accessories: Shoes ordered from e-bay, and her trademark socks were also ordered on ebay!
Command Seal: The command seal is painted on with Ben Nye red paint, the same paint I used for Sheryl's Tattoo.
Shirt: This took me an embarassing amount of time and attempts! It's my first try working with stretch knit! It's just a nice soft stretch interlock knit, and the pattern I borrowed from Jubei-chan. Its her padme top pattern, the simplicity one. The snaps are not functional on the sleeves, and the cross is more stretch knit that I appliqued on.
Skirt: Completed in a day, my first ever completed pleated skirt! It's short as all hell, but it's to scale! My handy dandy boyfriend told me the width of the pleats and length since Rin is thankfully my height! Made from leftover black twill from my Macross SMS jacket. - Personal Thoughts:
- Saber has always been my favorite of Fate/Stay Night, but when I finally got around to watching Unlimited Blade Works earlier this year I fell in love with Rin! She's amazing TOO! I made this to go with my boyfriend's Archer costume :D, and to add to the ever growing Fate costumes I plan on having! This one was interesting because we scaled almost everything on this costume to me, since we are both the same height. It was startlingly reassuring and fun!
We will be adding her props soon, dagger, necklace, and rubies incoming!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- I left the Luthien as is, the only thing was I had my friend style the bangs. I am also wearing two long ponytail clips. Those were also trimmed.
- Wig Review
- The wig was pretty nice. My only issue with the wig is the textures are a little bit oily and thicker, not as silky smooth as other wigs, but it was comfortable and I liked how easy it was to style!
