Construction Details:

Pretty simple to assemble - hakama are actually from my old Bleach Arrancar cosplays (not exactly color accurate, but I really didn't want to sew another pair nor dye them). The yukata was made using a Simplicity kimono pattern with some really awesome twill-ish fabric Bekalou helped me pick out (I love how it photographs). Also used a Kyrolan makeup to pale my skin a bit since Hijikata has a lighter complexion than I do. The sword I'm particularly proud of, as its an $8 Halloween store sword that I really didn't have to do much to other than paint the handle and tsuba a much more natural gold and do the tsukimaki wrapping (looks pretty legit in photos too).

Next time I wear this out I'll have the Shinensengumi haori, the headband, and purple contacts :>

Personal Thoughts:

Some friends were doing Hakuouki for Fanime, and though I had initially been planning on doing Okita, a Hijikata was needed for the group, so I opted to be him instead (he's one of my favorites from the series anyways XD)
