Construction Details:

The first and most interesting part that I decided to tackle was the cage crinoline undergarmet. From my research, I discovered that the boning and wire usually used to make a cage crinoline is really expensive, so I decided to use some different materials. The cage hoops were made of plastic tubing sewn through ribbon strips attached to a belt.

The top of the dress and the bottom were made of two seperate pieces. The top was a sort of corset design with the top layer of the skirt attached to the bottom of it. The dark blue designs were all hand appliqued on for a clean finish.

The crown and necklace were made with sheet plastic glued to craft foam. They were bent while they were drying in order to hold their curved shape. The necklace is held on by a jewlery chain in the back and the jewels were made of cast resin.

Personal Thoughts:

I love how evil the Ice Queen is! This was a really fun costume to wear.
