About this Costume
Construction Details:
I made life more difficult for myself by never taking the easy route. The leotard is non-stretch vinyl that was a pain to work with. It laces in the back since the zipper wouldn't get it as tight as I wanted. I wanted to make the cape as gravity-defying as possible so I made a harness out of craft foam and wonderflex; unfortunately, it wasn't sitting well with the leotard so I had to scrap it last minute. The cape is mole skin and giant! I wanted to keep the flow-y feel that I imagined an Asgardian god would have. The top part of it is pleated to get the draping effect. I made the yellow wrapped boots but unfortunately, the zipper broke just as I was putting them on. I'll need to fix those before I get any ore pictures. The circle bits are wonderflex; the belt is foam and PVC and the leggings are spandex. The helmet is made out of a costume felt hat and the wings are craft foam. Hammer was bought and altered.
Personal Thoughts:
I really enjoy Thor and wanted to cosplay him but knew that would end terribly as I'm small and pathetic. So I opted to do a female version. I also wanted to go old school and do the classic version since no one seems to do that version anymore.
