About this Costume
Construction Details:
Red/Maroon is Bottom Weight fabric, the bracers are Duck Cloth, all the trim and belt is Kona Cotton, and anything black is costume pleather. Fun Foam was used for the hair accessory, belt buckle, clasp, and toe of the shoes.
I used a draw string pant pattern and altered it. Everything else was drafted by me- I have never done that before!!!
Personal Thoughts:
Rivith and I have been wanting to do these for a while. Just getting around to checking them off the bucket list. We started a little over 2 weeks before the con on these, and well I guess you could say time management is not a strong point for either of us.
One of my big personal rules is not to bring a sewing machine to a con. Well since this was a masquerade costume and I wasn't finished Friday morning I had to pack it up. The original black I had used for the 'armor' was bought off the clearance rack. Late Wednesday before the con I messed up the bottom cut and didn't have fabric to fix it-- so I ran to the store Thurs after work, but there was no more. Anything black was remade Thursday and Friday. I really hate sewing in hotel rooms.
