About this Costume
Construction Details:
Well It's nice to be able to put a prom dress to good use. This dress was originally created for my prom dress this spring and has ended up doubling as a TARDIS dress to accompany my Boyfriend's 10th Doctor to Kumoricon 2012.

Construction Details!
The Dress was constructed of around 3 yards of Casa Collection Satin and Casa Collection Sparkle Organza. The total for fabrics was around 80$.

The skirt is a based off a circle skirt pattern but I extended one half of the skirt to make the train. The bodice was hand drafted and lined with interfacing. Then the sparkle organza was hand ruffled and tacked onto the bodice. The bodice and skirt connect beneath the belt, which come off the dress completely and is held together with 2 hook and eye closures. There is a zipper running up the side of the dress for easy change-a-bility.

The top hat was made with craft foam, left over fabric, ribbon and a butt load of hot glue. Though not perfect it works. "Police Box" was written on the ribbon in silver nail polish. The hat is held on with bobby pins. I'm hoping to be able to put a light in the top of the hat.

Purchased!
Wig: CosplayWigs (Who would have know that one would have more uses for a Nia wig than just a bunch of Nia outfits?)
Shoes: Born
Personal Thoughts:
It's nice to be able to reuse a prom dress. It's even nicer to be able to reuse a specialized character wig! :D
