Construction Details:

This is probably one of the most simple costumes I've made. As in- I really gave myself a lot of liberties that I usually don't. The fabric is a kind of upholstery microsuede which is heat n bonded in colored layers, then sewn into the skirt and top. I know I could have done better on the wings, but I chose the wrong fabric in a rush. I'm really happy with the wing base though, they were very sturdy c:

Personal Thoughts:

I... love Ferngully soooo much ;u; I really do. It was so ahead of its time. Robin Williams, Tim Curry... how CAN you go wrong. 8]
But anyway, really, Fairies are a huge part of my life. I'd say my self image is a fairy, to a degree. I really loved the Ferngully story as a child, and it still brings me so much joy to rewatch now. Crysta is such a strong female lead character, and her story is really charming and wonderful. I'm so happy that I could cosplay her!! What more could I ask for than twirling and hopping around trees at a con in the springtime?
