Construction Details:

The socks and wrist warmer (which is on the arm you can't see) were made from a pair of athletic pants I got from DI. The shoes and skirt were bought at DI. The white shirt was a size large from DI, and I altered it to fit and then sewed different sleeves onto it. The blue shirt was a long sleeve shirt from Target. The tie and sailor collar were made from material bought at Joann. The sailor collar was the most difficult part of my entire outfit. I had to figure out what shape to cut out and then how to sew it on (it kept bunching up so I had to frustratingly resew it a few times). The white shirt has this part that supposed to overlap in the front, but I didn't want that diamond shape to show through, so I sewed it in place, cut the extra fabric off, and put a zipper in the side seam.

Personal Thoughts:

I love gender benders. And female Natsuru has such a cool character design.

Styling Notes

I have no experience with wigs, so I just cut straight across at the desired length. I used thinning scissors to shorten the bangs and the hair that frames the face. Then I took a claw hair clip and clipped it up, pulling at strands until I thought it looked good. I may have cut the wig too short. If I had to do it over again, I would not have cut it so short and I would have layered it.

Wig Review

I was hoping the wig wouldn't end up being the cheap kind you find in most Halloween stores, where the hair is too thin, but it wasn't. I got it for a good price and it was the perfect color. The hair layed exactly how I wanted it to after cutting it.
