Construction Details:

I was given a tutorial on Cosplay.com to make it from a user who had made one as a commission (Meowl). The blade is made of craft foam on top of a wire base, which was stuff with the extra craft foam for some dimension. The silver connector was made out of a wooden candle holder from Micheal's Crafts, which I cut the top and bottom off of and put the top in place of the bottom, creating a way to stay on the PVC pipe. The blade was glued inside by drilling a hole in the top and feeding in the excess wire.

The bottom wasn't done properly due to time constraints, but it was made of a wooden chess piece that had a dowel drilled into the center, which was then padded with more craft foam to keep it steady inside the PVC.

Personal Thoughts:

This was the very first prop I ever made. Sailor Saturn was always my favorite character, and my friends joked that I since purple was my favorite color and I had just painted my room that color, I just needed a Silence Glaive to be her. So when I went to cosplay her for Fanime 2007, I wanted to do it right and have a Glaive. Though it is retired and could do with remaking, I still keep it out in my room because I love it so much :3
