Construction Details:

This costume is made out of Casa satin and some costume satin. I used a pattern for the bodice, but I drafted all of the other patterns. This was my first attempt at making a scalloped hem, and I think it turned out ok. I ruffled approximately 39 feet of purple fabric for the bottom of my purple underskirt, which was pretty time consuming. I also made 1 of the 3 petticoats that I wore under the skirts, as well as a makeshift cage crinoline (made out of 1/4" PVC pipe). My crown was full of fail and needs to be remade, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the costume.

Personal Thoughts:

Made this in about a week to wear while helping judge the GraniteCon 2012 costume contest. I felt like a frilly cupcake all day and it was awesome.
