About this Costume

This costume wasn't very hard. It was just frustrating and time consuming, but I think I have myself to blame for the way I made certain parts. The top half of the top is made out of some material that I'm sure is meant to be used as a table cloth (yet it's got some stretch...what?). I cut strips and sewed them together to make the "ribbed" look, the bottom half is just a solid piece of that fabric to complete the top. The shorts are also made out of this weird material. The corset and skirt thing are made out of bridal satin. Corset has plastic boning in it for some structure and yes it laces up in the back. The skirt is pretty much a circle skirt with the waist hole skewed from the center. All of the gold detail was made out of vinyl and mostly sewn (some glued) on. The piping was handmade because I needed a thicker cord, rather than the wimpy ones you find prepackaged in stores. The screw heads are made out of model magic, spray painted gold, and then glued on. What else...? Oh the wings in these photos are made by praedestinatio. And I plan on making accurate ones at a later time, so keep a look out for that! :D
- Personal Thoughts:
- I've always tinkered with the idea of doing Suu because something about her just draws me in. I'm sure CLAMP designs didn't help the fact, since more than half of them can be very visually appealing. Lol. I also REALLY need to read/watch the actual series... >_>;;
