About this Costume

Another fuku, but a different method applied to the creation of this one. Instead of doing the ruffle style skirt I pleated this one. I did this for 2 reasons, 1. in the anime her skirt looks pleated from every angle you see it, even when it's flowing it still remains pleated with the crisp edges. 2. Trying to figure out a way to make the yellow and blue strips at the bottom with circular style skirts hurt my head to much lol. I have been getting alot of commission requests to make fuku's with pleated skirts so I have had alot of practice working with this. It's also easier to make pleats then the drop circles..AND uses up less fabric!
The sleeves and back bow are made of pearl organza. The back bow tail is sparkle organza that has been edged with a rolled hem serge to create the fluttery appearance. The bow was made of a dark pink/fuschia satin and given the angle edges like the anime. The glove tops are the same ones for my eternal moon (manga style). The boot covers are lycra that started off white and were dyed to match the bow/glove tops. The tops are made of white vinyl strips. All the crescents were made from moon shaped arcylic jewels I have and painted yellow. I wanted this one to look very cartoony so I decided not to make anything gold on it like my previous Moon costumes. I also created a new wig for this costume. My usual Usagi wig is more Ash blonde and works well for the Manga version of Sailor Moon. In the anime her hair always looked gloden/yellow blonde to me. I ordered Arda's chibi style wig and one long extension clip in 013 light blonde, and made it all from that. - Personal Thoughts:
- My favourite varient of Moon's costume. The mix of all the colors and the unique design has appealed to me ever since I was a child. I chose to do this fuku with a different method then my usual fuku style.
I plan on wearing this costume alot more then my usual run with Moon costumes.

- Styling Notes
- I used the usual Stubbing method to create the wig. I have made quite a few wigs with this method and it always seems to work great. Working with this wig was awesome! Arda wigs are fantastic! I finally was able to make a Sailor Moon wig in the shade of blonde I wanted. I used 1 long pnytail clip from Arda to make the tails.
- Wig Review
- Arda's wigs are very high quality and they fit great and are easy to work with. I love the bangs in this wig! I just rolled and steamed them to make the poof.
