Construction Details:

The costume itself was very easy as it was a combination of store bought pieces, but the props, particularly the hair clip, and getting the right wig was difficult. The dress and belt were from Target, the boots from Amazon.com, and the bag was a commission from Etsy since I can\'t sew a stitch.

The hair clip is a paperclay concoction that is attached to an actual hair clip and built around it, with everything on it just being painted paperclay. The rope holder is a craft foam loop that was designed to hide the metal clasp of the belt and very simple. The pin sword is a wooden dowel sharpened to a dull point by sandpaper and a painted styrofoam ball attached to the top. The sugar cube was just a styrofoam cube.

Personal Thoughts:

This was such an enjoyable costume to wear! I absolutely loved running around as Arrietty and was so happy I got this finished in time for Fanime. I can\'t wait to wear it again ^^

Styling Notes

I basically put the wig into a low ponytail and then clipped it up with a flat brown clip to have it blend in more. The actually Arrietty clip was then clipped into the pulled up piece and the netting of the wig, so as to keep it semi-sturdy and not flop backwards due to the weight.
