Construction Details:

The bikini top is red spandex with "Full-Size Bust Enhancers" sewn into them, which meant taking liberties with the shape, and I worry it looks a bit too much like a bra now, but what can ya do? The necktie/scarf is some miscellaneous satiny material from a local fabric store that I had lying around. The jacket is lined except for the sleeves, and I never found a good way to sew them shut so there are raw edges on the insides of the shoulders (for some reason French seams ended up taking out too much fabric from the shoulders). I thought lining would look tacky with the sleeves rolled up, so I nixed it. Finished the edges with grey bias tape and added buttons last. The brooch is Sculpey on a pin.

Personal Thoughts:

Being Shura was fun!! I should've used a less smear-y way to do her tattoo thing, like eyeliner, but I guess I wasn't that smart. I had a good time working for Aniplex and it was well-received, so *A*

Wig Review

I was REALLY disappointed in this wig--it was one of those listings on eBay where they show an absolutely gorgeous wig, but then you don't get what you think you paid for. The ponytail clip is the thinnest one I have ever seen in my entire life, and the yellow piece separates out into two pieces super easily. The wig doesn't totally cover my scalp and has to be pinned down to even BEGIN to, and even then it is super thin, especially in the front where the red doesn't totally cover the yellow, so my scalp shows. But overall, much less volume than I thought I was getting, and I am not well-covered.
