About this Costume
Construction Details:
Sagebell and I faked a dress pattern at about 2am a few weeks before the convention, then my friend Lizzard helped me with figuring out the center of the dress, the invisible zipper, as well as faking a sleeve pattern. I looked all over the internet to find specific black, three toed 'monster' slippers to modify (which only included painting the talons white). I faked a pattern for the hood as well. The black tights I already had laying around. The wig was actually meant to be an Asuka wig; I just found it on eBay. The red contacts are from youknowit.com. Lizzard put the collar together for me in about 2 minutes using some green ribbon I already had. Finally, the tail and head 'feathers' are just yellow pieces of fabric I cut out into the proper shapes, filled with some stuffing, and then hand-sewn on by my friend Tessa. Overall, it'd probably be pretty easy for an experienced cosplayer, but for me, it was definitely a challenge; especially putting the wigs together. So many layers in those sleeves! For now this cosplay is considered retired, but I'd love to remake it to look much better sometime in the future.
Personal Thoughts:
This was the first costume I've ever actually had to sew anything for, and at the time it was a lot of work and experimenting. I had the help and suggestions of several good friends, and ended up finishing this for my first Sakuracon in 2011.

Not entirely sure of the brand: I tracked down the seller on eBay, and their name is cosplaywigx.
