About this Costume

I've never cut so many fabric pieces on the bias. XD The dress, brown sash, tabard binding, and hair wraps were all cut on the bias. My dress is an italian wool dyed fuchsia, details are casa satin appliqued and satin stitched down. My brown sash is made from silk dupioni (my faaaaavorite fabric! XD), the fringe was crocheted and cut by me (using embroidery floss). My tabard is white linen look appliqued onto blue cotton woven, the border is the same cotton woven in a lighter blue. My sail cloth is white linen look, loftwing emblem was painted on using a stencil made from contact paper. The boots are 100% leather (boot covers made by me, shoe soles are from thrift store shoes). For the bracelets, I made a single bangle from sculpey and molded and cast two exact copies from resin. Gold belt, silver belt brooch, clear blue gems, and their settings were all cast from resin. Ears bought from Aradani Costumes. (Hopefully someday I'll learn to make my own!)
- Personal Thoughts:
- This is my new favorite costume to wear! It's very comfortable, relatively easy to get into, and with the exception of the sailcloth, it isn't restricting in anyway. After putting on this costume, I'm instantly in a good mood. I love being Skyloft Zelda! :D
