About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The mask:
A life cast of my face was made, I sculpted each expression on the life cast (I plan to make more expressions later), make a mold of each expression, then cast it in rondo (a resin/bondo mix). Sanded, then painted. Masks are held on by two earth magnets located on the temples - to make for quick and easy changing of faces.
The crown:
Made of sintra plastic, covered in fabric, then glued on to a thick headband that's under the fabric of the hood (there are holes where each piece comes out of) so to seem seamless.
The cape/ribbons:
Strapping for the cape is sort of hard to explain, but it is constructed of 3" thick elastic band and thin acrylic plastic (covered in red fabric via cement glue), and velcro. - Personal Thoughts:
- Hex is probably my more favorite character and I wanted to finally cosplay as her. I might do other versions of her in the future, but her season 1 appearance is by far my favorite.
