Construction Details:

White, black and red casa satin. The enormous skirt was a half circle skirt with enclosed seams, the ruffles were made with a zigzag stitch that I gathered. The corset top is fully lined with boning inside. The penguin hat actually came from a pattern from Cosmode - it's made of fleece and casa satin, the eyes and green gem are resin cast. The pearls are painted styrofoam and plastic and the drop pearls and beak are made from Fimo Air. The puffs are made from thick ribbons and horsehair braid layered together and handsewn.

Personal Thoughts:

Mawaru Penguindrum is one of my favorite anime, and what got me to watch it was Princess of the Crystal's transformation. I wanted to make this cosplay so badly. I made it originally for ACen 2012 and it was hard to maneuver with the massive skirt and bow trailing behind and the thigh high high heel boots
