Construction Details:

I was kind of crazy when I was making this costume. In that I wanted to try and do every little detail on the costume. I hand painted the lace detailing on the hat coz I didn't like any of the actual lace in the stores. Also painted the lace detailing and cut the individual scallops on the side draping and bum ruffles.

Building the feather part of the hat was actually kinda fun. I did a bunch of research before starting this, but I basically just took a glue gun and 2 bags of different feathers and glue them onto a long ostrich feather. I ran a thin wire underneath the ostrich feather to help bend it into shape. But you have to be careful though since you don't want to actually break the feather bone (that would suck!)

Otherwise, general construction is same ol' same ol'. I worked off of patterns and altered them to however I need it. It's not so much hard, and just more tedious than anything I found.

Yeup, I pretty much made everything that was on me except the wig and the boots. The bow I made though. XD

Personal Thoughts:

After 2 years of saying I'd do it... I've finally went and finished it! XD I spent about 2.5 months on this in total. Glad I started early /enough/ to finish everything that I wanted.

Also... never knew stripe cotton fabrics were that expensive... well, in comparison to what I usually get XD;; ...But at least I managed to only spend $56 in total for new materials 8D
