About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Dress- The bodice of the dress is made of a flesh-toned bridal satin with a lace overlay, to mimic the sheer look of the original design. The bottom of the dress is made from a suiting fabric.
Corset - The outer part of the corset is made from the same suiting fabric as the bottom of the dress, and lined with a heavy cotton for stability. It is steel boned.
Bustle - The bustle is sewn onto the back of the corset, and made of the same suiting fabric. It is made from three layers of ruffles, with a little bit of tulle sewn in between for fullness.
Gloves - These were purhcased at HotTopic
Neck Ruff - This was made by pleating some fabric and attaching it to a wide ribbon. A cameo is sewn into the center, and it hooks in the back with an ornate silver clasp.
Fascinator - I made a fabric flower, and attached an alligator clip onto the back. I also attached a strip of lightweight tulle and a strip of lace to the underside, as well as the purple ribbon. Beads were glued in place onto a wire, and then attached to the center of the flower.
Wig - This is an Arda "Dahlia" that was custom dyed.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I adore Hannah. She's such a kind-hearted, yet devious, character. I was torn on which version of her to cosplay, because I like all of her different costumes. I ended up choosing this obscure but stunning dress that appeared in episode 6.
I ended up taking a few artistic liberties with the design. The original design of the dress is completely backless, and showed quite a bit more skin. I also changed the hem of the dress slightly to have a more flattering look.
Wig Details
- How was the wig colored?
- Sharpie dye
