Nights spent burning my fingertips with hot glue: hahahaha ;_;
The horns were definitely the most challenging part of this costume--I went through three pairs of rejects before I found a way of making them that wouldn't crush my head. It's pretty simple: I carved and sanded insulation foam, covered them with layers of sanded spackle, then spraypainted them into a nice gradient. They're still pretty rough, which is frustrating, but I was running low on money and time, so eh. Hopefully I'll remake them someday! They were attached to a headband that was rooted into my actual hair with hair combs--a hole was cut in my wig for them to poke out of. This kept them stable, but I won't pretend having my hair pulled with two feet of leverage was a pleasant experience. u_u If I'm ever to wear this costume again, I'm going to build some kind of rig that'll distribute the weight more evenly.
The rest of the costume was really just detailwork, which is tedious but fun when you can take creative liberties like I did. n_n If you'd like information on any specific part of the costume, just message me! I also have an extensive FAQ on my tumblr, which can be found under the "my cosplay" tag. - Personal Thoughts:
- 413 CULL EVERYDAY
Wearing this was a whole lot of fun, and I really can't thank everyone who praised it at AB enough. I took this on as a challenge and wasn't sure up until the moment I walked out the hotel room door that I'd done it justice--really, I'm still a novice cosplayer and I kind of don't know what I'm doing most of the time. The reception I received meant a whole, whole lot.

Big thanks to Courtney M for his support.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The topmost wig is a black Ferrari, which I straightened a little. The wigs I cut up and attached below it to give it ankle-skimming length were cheaper ones from eBay. Two long curly clips and two short ones (straightened) were teased and clipped into the top and sides of my wig to give it a volume that I could detach if the weight became too much.
- Wig Review
- Funnily enough, I found this a lot more manageable than the Stocking wig I wore the rest of the weekend.
Not for the faint of heart, though. u_u
