Construction Details:

The vest/top is all cotton, lined so that the zig-zagged ends wouldn't ravel up awkwardly. I made it to be tight fitting, so I had to put a zipper in the back since the fabric didn't really stretch. I did find problems with the zipper lumping up a bit on me, but it's one of those flaws that no one else tends to notice except for me. The top also tends to make my chest completely disappear... guess I found a way to make a binder? XD

The skirt is made of some thicker cotton, with some pink shorts that I bought at the last minute so that you can't see through it to wear underneath. This was my first time doing pleats, and of course there's a messup. The pleats on the sides are... not right. I do plan to remake this skirt some other time as it's a bit tight and likes to ride up... not really into cosplay hentai XD

The hairpieces were a pain. I made them out of air-drying clay... you know, the really HEAVY kind. Also the kind that NOTHING wants to stick to... like hot glue. Or any kind of glue for that matter. I used duct tape and tissue paper to create a base for the hot glue to stick on, and finally managed to get the clips to stick to it. Afterwards, my problem was that the weight kept wanting them to fall down.
This being said... my next project is to be remaking them out of model magic. :T

Personal Thoughts:

I'm pretty happy with this cosplay overall. I made it fully from scratch (once again, minus the boots and socks) and put quite alot of thought into it, as it would be the first cosplay I'd be wearing with my boyfriend as a couple's cosplay.

Styling Notes

All I did was cut the bangs. It does not show in the photos, however I did do the odd locks of hair that go from the back to the front that Dawn has. There is no ponytail or clips in the back, I just took a huge chunk of hair, split it in two, twist them over each other then wrap them around to the front, clip them up with a hairclip the same color as the wig, then put the yellow pieces in.

Wig Review

Extremely thick! I'm just scared of having longer wigs, it's all knotted up from the con!
