About this Costume

The dress is a dark pink faille that I got on super sale for like $3/yard. It is a nice fabric but it has zero stretch in it, so the sleeves get a little tight when I want to lift them above my head. The two gems are hand cast resin from a rubber mold made from an original sculpt for each. The backs are painted in watercolor for the art-style Skyward Sword has. The belt is some left over pleather I had that I sewed and painted for more artbook effect. The gold belt is huge washers from home depot spray painted gold, with cast resin spheres that are also painted then glued on. Both crests are screenprinted on, but the white one is covered over in acrylic paint because I did not know the proper way to screenprint lighter inks on darker fabrics! All of the golden trim is gold pleather sewn on.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I've always loved the Legend of Zelda. I mean who hasn't? When this game came out I finally knew that this was the Zelda costume I was finally going to make. It's just so cute. Maybe one day I'll make another Zelda costume. Or Malon from Ocarina of Time, another favorite character <3
