About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The shirt/dress I made by putting together two "back" sides of a blouse pattern together, and extending the side panels. I could not get this to work for the life of me for the longest time- I had to make it 3-4 different times before I finally got it right. For the skirt, I made half of a pleated skirt for the front, and then half of a circle skirt for the back. All of the accessories are made out of foamie and air-dry clay. I originally wanted to make the gems out of resin and I bought transparent dye to cast them with. They came out opaque and the fumes made me sick. Instead, I molded air dry clay, and hand painted each piece and then sprayed it with a gloss coat of paint. All of the accessories fasten with velcro. I bought the shoes from ebay and spray painted them red; it took almost an entire can!
- Personal Thoughts:
- I really love everything about this costume except the armbands and the shoes. (Armbands keep falling down and the ankle straps on the shoes gave me godawful blisters.) I'm really pleased with how everything turned out and it is so much fun to cosplay Nia! Clouds for hair, clouds for hair, I'm a little girl with clouuuuds for hair!
