About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used a strapless dress pattern from purple sateen and added the blue stripes to the top with a stretch knit. It's lined in a cute purple cotton print and zips up the side with an invisible zipper. I cut the pattern to the hip, then added a short pleated skirt to the bottom. Underneath is a petticoat of white broadcloth and netting, with white ruffles added. I drafted the neckpiece, which is lined, and added white ruffled lace to the bottom of that and top of the dress.

The chest piece and brown belts are made from vinyl. The gears are made from craft foam and painted silver. There are two upper arm bands, two wrist bands, then two belts on each leg above the knee (which aren't in some pictures because they kept falling down, so I took them off for awhile).

The boots are spats that I made from microsuede, and they go over a pair of old pumps I had that I painted gold. I they fasten with velcro in the front of the leg, and I added all the studs. The gold belts are from vinyl belting from Joanns. The buckles for these and the leg belts are from Buckleguy.com.

My awesome mom made the hat for me. It's made out of the same purple sateen with gold fabric appliqued on, and heavy fusible Pellon gives it its structure. A grey gear is fused onto the top of the hat. A headband is glued on underneath to help it stay on my hat. The funky lens thing that comes out from it is craftfoam over a piece of wire, then random gold rings I had and more craftfoam.

I purchased the gun at Walmart and spray painted it brown. The gold parts are cut from craftfoam, then glued onto the gun. I added on random gears and findings from my box of random steampunk supplies, and the scope is an embroidery hoop with scrapbooking paper covered the middle. I then weathered the gun with some black acrylic paint.
Personal Thoughts:
My brother has been playing League of Legends for awhile, and when looking into the game one day I was blown away by all the amazing character designs. I decided to cosplay Caitlyn because it was purple - my favorite color. I then started playing the game and really enjoy it. I can't wait to cosplay more LoL characters.
