Construction Details:

I really love the manga illustrations by Lily Hoshino where the kimono's have the asanoha star pattern. After many months of searching for a similar fabric, I found a cosplay store located in China that sold it. I was able to buy several yards for the kimono. The obi was made using Taeliac's pre-tired obi tutorial. Her tutorial helped us out a lot and was SUPER useful. The tabi socks and geta sandals were imported from Japan. The hair bows was a pattern we came up with after many days of brainstorming. There is wire sewing into the fabric to help them keep their shape.

Personal Thoughts:

Zakuro! I think this anime is absolutely fantastic and have adored it since the first episode aired. Seriously. Its funny and lovable, with dark moments and random hints of romance mixed all into one. So, it didn't take long for me to get started on this costume.

Styling Notes

We actually took the wig apart and redid the pony tails. But, otherwise, no styling was needed.
