About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The uniform was basically a shirt, a skirt and an apron. The shirt was modified from an old one (shortened the sleeves and modified the collar). The skirt was a regular circle skirt with one pleat and with a petticoat underneath. The apron was made from scratch making a pattern myself (which I kept modifying every time I tried it on and something didn't look good). The fabric I chose for them was my good ol' stretch.
- Personal Thoughts:
- When the second season of Working!! finished, I was left with a nostalgic feeling, like a bunch of really good friends just moved away miles from me ;_; It's not an incredible series, but I grew so attached to their characters! So when a convention came up, it was one of the first options to make an easy and comfortable cosplay :3
But if I'm honest, the Working!! character I planned on cosplaying initially wasn't Yamada, but Popura (which is my favorite girl from the series). Unfortunately, I tried on the wig I spent so much money and time the night before the convention and found it too big and ridiculous once it was on my head ;__; But I actually liked the uniform I made for once, so I grabbed a purple wig, my zettai ryouiki and decided to cosplay my second favorite character and goof around the halls! I couldn't leave my poor Satou-san alone :P
All in all, and even being a little bit sad about my wig-fiasco, I absolutely loved being Yamada for a day, talking about myself in third person and making funny shots XD
