About this Costume

I knitted the scarf with a small gauge using cheveron points. However I could not figure out how to get the points closer together or the lines. For the wig, I bought a plain 80cm black wig and sewed in short white hair wefts for the white/blue hair. I'm a little sad I couldn't find some longer ones for the sides, but I used temp dye for that. Of the kimono itself, I used an old Simplicity pattern that's not in print anymore.(sry) I modified the pattern for the sleeves to be longer than they were originally and I lined it with powdered blue material. For the design at the bottom, I measured the seem and measured an inch above that and started making a graph to expand what ever area I needed the pattern on. Then, I drew boxes based on the graph. Finally, Using the zigzag stitch on my machine I shortened the stitch and stitched each box individually making sure to use stabilizer on the back to keep the material from bunching.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Wow, This took me longer than I thought..... So if you are wondering why the scarf is not in the photo, Its because I took the pictures of me wearing it down. What is up is me in a random white scarf I originally knitted for a Russia cosplay.
