Construction Details:

The head needed to be collapsable for travel, so it was made from dowels and metal wreathforms that went together very much like Tinker Toys. It could break down in just a few seconds. The outer part of the head was made of paper, cloth, and craft foam, and went over the head frame like a slip-cover, velcroing on the underside. For air, eating and drinking access, the face flipped up. The face itself was a plastic mask built up with paper mache and felt.

The body includes a muscle suit since the King is buff!

Personal Thoughts:

This costume was a huge amount of fun! This costume was retired by diving in the pool at Metrocon 2009 - wearing the nude muscle suit, monkey swim trunks, the head, the collar, and the gloves.
