Construction Details:

The teapot was sculpted out of model magic and styrofoam (to keep it light) and all of the jewel settings were made out of gold puff paint.

The corset is steelboned and lined with a pretty teal cotton, and trimmed in a gold bias tape.

The striped ribbon on the bum, and the one in the hair were made by glueing blue ribbons to white ribbons, since no one makes blue striped ribbon it seems.

The volero jacket was hand quilted, and a pearl was sewn on top of every gather. The design on the collar (and the ones on the tights) were airbrushed on using a stencil.

A lot of the special trims were hand made, as well as the jewelry. The shoes were painted with leather paint and decorated with ribbons and gems.

The petticoat and gloves were purchased.

Personal Thoughts:

Sakizou's artwork is so inspiring. I love all the frills and fanciful designs. I was really excited to join in when I learned one of my friends was making a costume as well.

I am very proud of the result of this costume, as it was my first fully boned corset that I ever made, plus it forced me to try a lot of new techniques and push myself.

It also looks awesome =P I can't wait to go back and add all of the little details I skipped out on for this convention.

Styling Notes

The front bangs and ponytail were set in curlers, and when attatching the pony tail I clipped half of it back up to keep it short and add volume.

Wig Review

The wig has a lot of crimpy hairs at the bang intersection, probably to disguise the wefts underneath but it isn't very pretty up close.

It is also HUGE on any head, so it needs adjustments, and to be pinned down to prevent gaping. Also due to the length of the base pony tail, it is very difficult to re-adjust the height of the ponytail, or placement of it.
