Construction Details:

Materials

Armor: Galvanized steel, leather, gloves, glue, and rivets.
Dress: royal blue Kona cotton, polyester gros-grain ribbon
Unde-rdress: bleached muslin,leafband lace eyelet, gold acrylic paint, and a fabric textile mixer.
Boots: elastic to let out the calves, silver pleather, aluminum ducting, wire, glue.

Construction

Dress:
The under-dress was a slightly altered historic pattern. I attached the bottom edging and hand cut every other leaf to get the correct look, then fray-checked all the cut bits. The gold was a mix of several different acrylic paints and textile medium hand painted on.
The overdress was frankenstiened out of 2 different patterns. The skirt and sleeves from another historic pattern and the body of the jacket from a steampunk one. Both were changed from the pattern. The skirt part has an open front, but a full waist band that connects with hooks in the back. the front is a jacket that comes together with velcro on one side. The sleeves have a wire in the 'poof' to give the sharp look that is apparent in most screenshots. I ended up spending way more time on this part as I didn't add the gold ribbon until after the jacket was put together making it impossible to use the sewing machine to attach it to the sleeves (yay for hand sewing).

Armor:
The armor was cut out of sheet metal using tin snips and pounded into shape with a rubber mallet, deadblow hammer and a rock for the anvil. My brother helped me with this. The leg armor is riveted together and then riveted to the leather belt. The body armor is glued to a leather backing that attaches on both sides with velcro and has a hook in the back to attach it to the dress. The gauntlets are separate from the gloves and riveted together. The gloves are a pair of rubberized work gloves with the gray bits colored in and the metal plates glued onto the top. I have full articulation with the right glove (not with the left as it's the shield side).
