About this Costume
Construction Details:
Shirt: For the pattern, I traced the outline from a dress I had, and then drew on the palm design before cutting everything out. All the pieces where then pieced together, and the edges are finished with ribbon. (Lots and lots of ribbon. Seriously, this costume has like, 20 yards of ribbon.) The cuffs are detachable, and are wrapped around foam to give it shape.

Pants: Modified from a pair of pants by adding two panels to the side, and adding ribbon. I don't like making pants from scratch.

Mask: Back portion is a hood. Front is a theater mask which I added Paperclay to to attempt to get the right shape and then painted. The mask attaches to the hood with Velcro. Also, now it glows in the dark, for more fun in scaring friends at night. :P

Bowgun: Cardboard base with one measly layer of paper mache. The flames are make of hotglue, which I painted blue-greenish. They also hide the flameless tealight I glued in there. I couldn't manage to take the tealight apart, so the hotglue flames are extra big.

Cloak: The cloak is made of vinyl and fully lined with some sort of polyester lining. I drafted the pattern on a smaller scale to fit on one of those pose-drawing mannequins and then scaled up to my size. The hood portion of it contains a layer of craft foam and a few wires to maintain rigidity. There are pockets sewn into the lining of the cloak to hold some small items (mainly the mask and any flames). Because it's made of vinyl, the cloak is pretty heavy, but it flaps kind of awesomely if there's enough wind.

Flames: Like with the bowgun, all the flames are made with hotglue, which were then painted. The one on my face is attached with spirit gum, and the flames on my hand are individual rings/bracelets that can pretty much be worn everywhere.
Personal Thoughts:
I wanted to do sort of a more challenging costume than I usually do, and I really like Yuri Petrov, so this happened. This was my first time sewing together a costume that wasn't obviously normal clothing, as well as making significant headgear and props, so it was a great learning experience.

This is an incredibly fun costume to wear around cons--what with the creepy mask and the over-sized cloak.

Wig Review
So I just got a wig because I foresaw not wanting to wear the mask for extended periods of time (and being mostly blind and all). Probably one of the best ideas I've had with regard to keeping myself alive. XD
