Construction Details:

Basic block kimono and haori construction(but machine sewn). Patched are embroidered from vectored patterns. Hakama was dyed to match cover artwork. Pretty simple costumes overall, though I'd like to re-make it from better/more accurate materials in the future.

Personal Thoughts:

I made this costume in honor of my husbands friend Stan Sakai(artist of Usagi Yojimbo). His comic book does not receive enough love and I wish more knew of it.
When Stan let us know he was coming to ALA as a guest of honor we thought we'd throw these together in tribute and hope to continue to improve them over time.
The comic details the wanderings of Miyamoto Usagi a wandering ronin who's adventures are inspired by Japanese history and culture.
