My revised Fem!Austria cosplay. I think this one came out much better than the first. I was able to buy a white tulle skirt at a secondhand shop. (It was one of the ugliest things I had ever seen. Tulle EVERYWHERE!)The material I sewed over the skirt was actually an old curtain (Scarlett O'Hara, eat your heart out!)
I fitted the blouse/jacket, altered the top and bottom so they'd be shaped correctly, re-attached the ribbon border, and attached the flowers, which used to be earrings. The cuffs are two ribbons sewn together, with lace trim and a line of lace to hide the seam. I couldn't resist added little crystals. It IS Austria, afterall.
The bloomers underneath were a discounted pair of shorts. The patches were the left over material from the cravat. I decided to use a different kind of lace on the hem of the bloomers because I figured they'd be older than the rest of the outfit. I made small cuts in the sides of the of bottom of the leg and threaded the lace through to get the drawstring effect.
The fan was ordered off of Amazon.com, and the hairpin was recycled from the first version of the cosplay. I added a ring with a simple purple stone that I bought at the convention since Austria always seems to be married at some point. I also wore a simple gold cross. The fingerless lace gloves were borrowed from a friend.
Overall, I'm very, very happy with how this turned out, and I had a blast spinning in that skirt! :)
