About this Costume
Construction Details:
There is two parts to this costume. An under dress that is sleeveless and a over coat. The dress was a basic pattern. I just made sure it had flair to it and added a few inches so that it hit at the right spot on my calve.

The coat was a Butterick pattern that I altered to get the right silohette for Claudia. Her shape looks very much like two triangles on top of one another. Broad shoulders, small waist and flaired bottom of coat. I also have to work with the front of the pattern to get the overlap right. The buttons kinda go at an angle. The collar was also altered to be alot taller. The buttons are made so that all of them can button, but the bottom button is not intended to be buttoned. The cuffs were the hardest part to come up with. They had to be able to flair out a bit (some of the screenshots showed a slight flair) Put they also didn't connect at the cuff. There is still a button however and a small line you see going from one side of the cuff, through the gap between the cuff. I took this to be something like a sports jacket (after carefully looking at it with friends). Thus its a string from one side of the cuff to the other side, which a button is on. This gives me a bit of flair.

The makeup was also a bit hard. Claudia has no eyebrows. I went through a few tutorials and landed on my favorite being a glue stick cover tutorial. The eyebrow wax looked like it worked, but it didn't cover the color as well. I pretty much glue sticked my eyebrows, then used an eyebrow brush to brush them up so they would lay flat. I then used a pottery scraper and scrapped off layers of the glue stick. As every layer on the eyebrows dried, I would add another layer. Every layer I would powder with foundation powder. After about five layers of glue, using the scraper to make it smooth and even and powder, I added some Ben Nye foundation, pretty thickly, all over the eyebrows and my face. Then powdered with translucent powder. If you get REALLY close you could see the difference in texture, but from a normal distance not in my personal bubble it looked perfect. (I felt like Lady Gaga with the boney face prosthetic)
Personal Thoughts:
I wanted to do both shoeless cultists. And now I have.

Styling Notes
I straightened and trimmed a Matilda to be the same as Claudia. I kept some wave to it but not much. I also cut the lacefront down to probably a centimeter from the hair line. For my first attempt I used Lacefront tape. Which would be fine for a con day running around. But for future shoots I will use spirit gun.
Wig Review
Really thick at the base close to the hair. If you want a thinner hair look, I would go with the Dude. Its has less volume at the base.

*Side Note: I wish I could use the Matilda for everything. Its a REALLY nice lacefront. I love that it comes with clips by the lacefront and the wave is really pretty. I could probably do anything with this wig.
