Construction Details:

Layers! Without them, the skirt was just flat and heavy. I used lycra for the black undershirt, and sateen for the dress itself. I originally had planned to line the skirt with black for effect but the skirt ended up being too long for the lining to show. There is also a layer of black tulle somewhere to create the initial fullness right under the waist.

Personal Thoughts:

This design is slightly different from the original in that it has a full ballgown dress with a shorter slit. I specifically made it to wear to the Anime Weekend Atlanta Imperial Ball, so I was looking for something more formal and less battle style that is the original. Thankfully I was able to dance in it, as well (and sit, and walk, etc).
