About this Costume
Construction Details:
The dress started off as a thrifted black dress I ended up doing a lot of hand sewing modification to. I decided to do Her dress in more of a Cinderella Disney style to emphasize a place for her cutie marks. The most difficult parts were adding on the ruffles to the bottom for sure. There are 3 petticoats under the dress to give it some extra volume and the wings are detachable via some industrial snaps. The wings are also hand-made with a self-designed pattern, originally intended for Panty & Stocking.
Personal Thoughts:
Another last minute before con costly. I couldn't resist doing her after the halloween episode. Much positive feedback for her so I feel it was a good choice. I don't feel it's a serious competition piece, but I did enjoy running around with other brines and making little kids smile at seeing a princess. I upped her fan club by at least 10 ponies c:

Styling Notes
Curled the wig slightly to give it some wave using a curling iron on the highest setting and Adolfo Wig Styling Spray. Sparkles were added to it by using Krylon Glitter Spray pain, and sealed in with the Adolfo again. Crown, ears, and horn were glued in.
Wig Review
First time ever curling a wig, as well as adding in sparkles to a wig. Many lessons learned as always. If I had to do it again I'd get a curled wig to start with. But I did enjoy how it came out. The sparkles were very tricky and do shed a lot even being sealed in so I kept a spare emergency bottle on me just in case.
