Construction Details:

Made to go with Binkx's maido Mami for PMX! This costume was pretty simple. I found the perfect polka dot print fabric for $4 a yard... I'll take it! Used that for the slouchy hood and bows. The hood has elastic running through it to hold the ruffles in place, and so I can stretch it up and over my massive wig when I want to put it on / take it off. The cape is peachskin (love this stuff), the vest is a weird stretchy cotton suiting stuff I had laying around, and for the skirt I bought some mini-pleated red satin that matched the color of the cape fabric. I also just so happened to have some viscose jersey laying around that perfectly matched the color of my wig... so my stockings were made from that! My long brown sleeves are poly georgette, and I left the seams in them partially open so I can stick my hands out of them when I need to fuss with something.

Personal Thoughts:

I feel SO CUTE in this thing. It is also quite comfortable... I was initially hot in it with the poly cape and sleeves, but I quickly became thankful for them backstage at PMX... brr! My black circle lenses look super creepy in person. Also.... WACKY WAVING ARM INFLATABLE TUBE MAN! I really shouldn't make a costume with sleeves this long ever again. I abuse them. :p
